Kate smashes 10k Fundraising Goal for Mind in Corby

Incredible news! Kate Howton has successfully surpassed her £10,000 fundraising target for Mind in Corby. Despite receiving a terminal oesophageal cancer diagnosis in 2019, Kate's unwavering determination and courage propelled her to exceed her initial goal of £5,000. Through engaging fundraising challenges such as indoor skydiving, horse riding, and a head shave, she has triumphed over adversity and made a significant impact.

Kate's inspiring journey began in 2019 when she received the devastating news of her terminal cancer diagnosis. Despite this, she dedicated herself to a fundraising goal of £5,000 for Mind in Corby, wishing to give back to the service that helped her through difficult times. Through her sheer determination, she surpassed this target, organising challenges and activities, and showing incredible strength throughout.

Despite beating some incredible odds and being given the all-clear, Kate faced another devastating setback when her cancer returned in 2022 with a terminal prognosis. However, this did not shake her resolve to provide a support system for the people of Corby. With the support of Harpers Brook in Oakley Vale, Kate raised her goal to £10,000, and she recently celebrated achieving this remarkable feat.

"Mind has helped me through. It’s been a godsend. When I was told I had a year, the staff and clients helped me"
