Groups &
Peer Support

Northamptonshire Mind offers a variety of informal support groups that cater to diverse interests, from creative arts to outdoor activities. These groups provide an opportunity for individuals seeking mental health support to connect with like-minded individuals while participating in activities that foster personal growth and skill development. Our Mental Health Support Workers and trained volunteers facilitate these groups, ensuring that they remain accessible, safe spaces for all participants. We recognise the importance of creating an inclusive and welcoming environment where individuals can explore new interests, develop their skills, and build meaningful connections with others who share similar experiences.

This page is in the process of being updated so please bear in mind that there may be groups that are not yet listed here, or no longer running.

Our current programme of groupwork:
peer support group

Peer Group

In our weekly peer support meetings, everyone's views and experiences are equally valued. How much support you give and receive can vary depending on what feels right for you at different times. Our sessions are peer-led, and many members have found lifelong friendships through common ground.

Fresh Minds (18-24yrs)

Our Fresh Minds groups, designed for those aged 18-25, offer a safe and supportive space to explore a range of topics related to mental well-being, life skills, and building self-awareness. These groups provide an opportunity to connect with like-minded individuals, gain valuable tools and resources, and establish a strong foundation for young adulthood.

Art Group

The goal of art therapy is to utilise the creative process to help you explore self-expression and, in doing so, find new ways to gain personal insight and develop new coping skills. Creative activity can reduce your stress and have a positive effect on your mental health, regardless of artistic experience or talent.

Gardening Group

Our Gardening groups run from both our community garden in Corby (in collaboration with The Green Patch) and the grounds of Isebrook Hospital in Wellingborough. The sessions provide a wonderful opportunity to nurture and develop a green space for communal use. During colder months and bad weather, craft or cooking sessions are run so that there is something to do all year round.
