Mental Health Awarenesss Week
We are supporting a major new ‘mental health support under one roof’ event for the forthcoming Mental Health Awareness Week.
As part of the annual week, Northamptonshire Mind will be part of the first #Headfest event, from Monday, May 9, to Saturday, May 14, from 10am each day.
The event will see mental health organisations from across the county take their expertise out into the community.
Members of the public are invited to come along for mental health-related talks, workshops, and other activities all under the same roof, at the Royal & Derngate in Northampton.
Northamptonshire Mind, in collaboration with Northamptonshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, will be hosting presentations on the Crisis Cafes, which are run throughout the county.
During the week, Northamptonshire Mind will also hold events at its bases in Northampton, Daventry, Towcester, Rushden, Corby and Wellingborough.
Fundraising and communications lead Nick Tite said: “We are opening our offices to let people know about some of the work and support on offer throughout the country – Mental Health Awareness Week is the ideal opportunity for us to let people know how we can support them.
“Keep an eye on our website and all our social media feeds to find out more and see what is going on.”
The #Headfest event – a brainchild of BBC Northampton – will also include a host of events throughout the week.
Northamptonshire Mind CEO Sarah Hillier said: “Mental Health Awareness Week is an ideal time to let people within our communities know what support, help and advice is available to them.
“Our teams are geared up for the week and we are also proud to be part of the #Headfest initiative with so many other mental health experts also taking part.
“We think this could launch even bigger events in the future – next week is the time to get talking about mental health and opening up the conversation.”
